Translations window with the translation string list

Open the translations window by double clicking on the translation language in the project window.
Open directly a translation list file (.trl) or a gettext po-file via File | Open project.

Save the translation list. When you are editing a gettext po-file, than it is saved as a po-file, otherwise it is saved as a .trl file.

Print the translation list. Landscape orientation is used.

Open the search dialog and search for a specific string.

Open the filter dialog, choose the desired selection of strings and display only desired strings.

Undo filtering.

Toggle between the display of all strings in the grid or the display of only the selected strings in the grid.

Update from source language. Updates the translation stringlist from the stringlist of the source language.

N.B. You need to update all languages from the Project Window when the original source has been changed.

Auto translate the selected string in the grid. Only the translation memories (glossaries) are used.

Check the translated strings on common editing errors that can arise when translating, such as leading spaces which are missing. The errors are displayed in the output window (View | Output). Double clicking on a displayed error brings you directly to the translation edit window, displaying the properties of the erroneous translation.

Auto translate all strings. The translation memories (.glo files) are searched for each source string and when a match is found the translated string from the translation memory is used. Optionally, you can also use Google translate. A Google translation is only used when no match is found in the translation memories. N.B. The auto translation process is time consuming, so patience is necessary.

Export the translation string list. There are four export formats:

LinLocalize Translation List (*.trl), the standard format for LinLocalize translation lists
LinLocalize Text Format (*.trltxt). UTF-8 text format, intended to send to a translator. Duplicate source strings are exported only once. After translation, this file format can be imported as a translation memory (.glo file). Items which have been labeled hidden or readonly, and strings that are translated and are not labeled for review are not exported.
LinLocalize Glossary Format (*.glo). The format of a LinLocalize translation memory. Duplicate source strings are exported only once. You can use this file for future automatic translations.
Gnu Gettext po Format (*.po). The gettext UTF-8 text format of the strings, also intended to send to a translator. Duplicate source strings are exported only once. After translation, this file format can be imported as a translation memory (.glo file). Items which have been labeled hidden or readonly are not exported.

Translation grid

Double clicking on a line of the translation grid opens the Translation Properties Editor, in which you can view and modify all properties of the translated string.
