The Translation Properties Editor

This window shows the properties of the translated string. The Translation Properties Editor can be opened by double clicking on a string in the grid of the translation window. Alternatively, it can be opened via the local menu.

Labels

Read only. When marked read only, the source string is not to be translated. The translation string is replaced with the source string. Filtering is possible.

Bookmark. Bookmark a string for your own convenience. For some functions you can select bookmarked strings. Filtering is possible.

Translated. Mark when translated. Auto translation procedures set this mark. Filtering is possible on translated strings and on untranslated strings.

For Review. Mark when the translation is not definitive. Filtering is possible.

N.B. Filtering works on the strings that are displayed.

Editors

The three text edit parts of the window are:

Google translate

The source string can be translated to the translation language, and the translation can be translated back to the source language. The source string can be edited to ease translation. For instance, when the message is very short, a few words can be added to clear up its meaning. Or words can be grouped, using " " or ( ). The changes in the source language are never saved and immediately discarded.

Tools

Go to the first item. Changes in the current item are saved.

Go to the previous item. Changes in the current item are saved.

Go to the next item. Changes in the current item are saved.

Go to the last item. Changes in the current item are saved.

Validate the item. The item is marked Translated, while the mark For Review is cleared.

Reject the translation. The translation is discarded and replaced by the original source text. The Translated mark is cleared.

Add a comment.

Open the character map. In this dialog you can select any of the available Unicode characters and form a string. Select the desired characters of the string and insert it in the translation.

Auto translate the source string. Only the translation memories (glossaries) are used.

Accept and close. All changes are accepted and the window is closed.

Close Window. All changes are discarded and all strings and markers remain the same as before editing.
